![]() ![]() Regardless of the absurd prices, the food was delicious with generous portion sizes. I ordered pancakes, a side of bacon, a side of eggs, and a small pot of coffee - with the $10 delivery charge and pre-added gratuity, the meal came out to $70.52 (didn't see this at all on my bill). The restaurant also only opened at 9 AM on the weekends and seemed to serve a more limited menu. ![]() The FHR benefit is $70 with In-Room Dining - I don't think it can be used in the restaurant (although, I didn't clarify). The shades were very effective - when closed, the room was incredibly dark.īreakfast was a highlight - I was a tad nervous about the "healthy" lean of the property and how that would translate to breakfast. In-room controls for lighting, windows, and climate were both done with physical buttons throughout the room as well as the in-room iPad. The TV had the Sonifi Chromecast system seen in Hyatt properties. I thought there was a good amount of storage space. As mentioned, there is also a built-in chaise lounge and a small marble table (this is also the only thing that could double as a desk). The mattress was firm - some kind of expensive foam. The bed was also nice - two duvets that you could arrange to your preference (no sheets). I also enjoyed the novelty of the electronic frosted glass between the shower and room (with one switch, you could immediately frost or de-frost the glass). The bathroom had a great shower with three shower heads (although only one could be active at a time) - the rainfall head offered amazing pressure. Nice mixture of stone/marble (I really don't know) and wood floors. The room itself was nice - it reminded me a bit of the Park Hyatt in terms of coloring and modernity but was probably a bit nicer. As a result, sitting on the chaise lounge provided an actually-nice view. The main view was obstructed by a large office tower, but on either side, you could see the Hudson River or a view up to the Steinway Tower and One57. ![]() My room was on the 27th floor and faced north. I booked a base King room, and I believe that I got exactly that (I didn't bother to check availability or push for upgrades as I was happy to be able to check in around 11:30 AM to a ready room). Even with this setup, I didn't seem to encounter any obnoxious wait times or crowding.Ĭontrary to the stern emails I got about COVID policies before my stay, there were no guest temperature checks at the entrance. There are two elevators that shuttle guests from the ground to the lobby (or restaurant or guest access to the Equinox fitness club on the 4th floor) and then two elevators that move from the lobby to the guest floors. Luckily, the bar and restaurant are a floor below the lobby, so you can miss the crowds if you prefer (although, you will still hear the music as the lobby overhangs in an atrium style). Occupying floors 24-38 of 35 Hudson Yards, the Equinox Hotel definitely had a vibrant feel (very busy in the bar area, especially on Saturday night). I completed a one-night stay here recently through Amex FHR and was generally impressed. PREMIER ROOM - 1 KING BED - 468 SQF - 43 SQMWhy such a difference in rates? Is this typical?
